Lowepro Vertex 200 AW
April 2010 – I am a professional photographer based out of Toronto, Canada. I am at the moment in Mexico on a shoot
and this last week have been through some really harsh environments. I have two Lowepro Vertex 200 AW bags that I
use to house my Nikon D3's and lenses and support equipment and have taken these bags through the jungle, through
mud and caves, through sand and winds of terrifying speeds, while raining torrentially all the while. These bags
have stood up to being on a small fishing boat in the middle of the ocean for 5 hours while I was unable to use the
built in cover as well, again during violent downpour and waves crashing. They have been places in parts of the jungles
that were dry only to become flooded during downpour and were inches deep in water and mud before I managed to take
them to safety. These bags have stood up to all of this and every piece of equipment I charge them to protect remains
just that, protected.
I just wanted to say how impressed I am with these bags, they are not meant to be waterproof and this past week has forced me to treat my gear as poorly as I ever hope to treat it in my life. After discovering numerous times in the last 8 days that my cameras were fine and ready to use, despite the bags being a little damp, I was more than amazed. Truly no test could prove to me the durability of your bags more than my more recent experience and aside from a thank you (Thank you), I'd just like to tell you that I will be endorsing your products even more than I already have. I owe Lowepro a great debt as my job would not have been completed and frankly, not thinking about my camera bag's durability is something that could easily have been overlooked. But I noticed, and thought I would share. So again, great product and thank you! In 30 days when my studio opens I will certainly be purchasing a myriad of Lowepro bags after this experience!
Sincerely, and with gratitude,

High Impact Imagery is now Mainly Using Lowepro Photography Bags
Are we affiliated
with the makers of Lowepro? NO! I am just here to say that High Impact Imagery is now all switching over to Lowepro
Bags to ensure the protection of our gear. Why is this?
While on a mountain bike outing one day we were riding pretty hard through the trails, All the sudden my front wheel stopped dead in its tracks. I instinctively I turned the wheel to the right to attempt to turn off the path so I wouldn't cause a collision with the other bikers. My rim bent in half and all the sudden I was flying through the air, The first thought that flashed through my mind was the fact that I had been the designated photographer of the day, Strapped to my back was my trusty Lowepro Slingshot 200 AW. I landed straight on it, For about 5 minutes I laid there on the ground, Wind knocked out of me, I looked over at my bike and slowly realized that most of the gear in my bag was probably totalled. I unstrapped my bag and got up to walk off the crash, Not wanting to believe that I needed to replace my camera gear. One of my friends bent down to inspect the damage off my gear, He opened up the bag and called me over with a smile spread across his face, Not a single piece of my gear was even slightly damaged.
Cost of Replacing my Rim = $100
Cost of Replacing my Helmet = $150
Cost of NOT Replacing thousands of dollars worth of camera gear? $75.
Thanks Lowepro for making such high quality photography bags!!

January 2009 | Lowepro DryZone
I was leading a photo expedition in the Antarctic. We used zodiac rubber boats to go out to photograph seals and
whales. In a second, we were in a blizzard and unable to navigate by eye. We were snow blinded. Luckily we had a
radiophone and the captain of the ship guided us back to safety by radar. I wasn't the only photographer on the zodiac
who had enough smarts to take a weatherproof DryZone to this caustic environment. Some of the other occupants' camera
gear didn't fare so well when it came to protection. The DryZone paid for itself that day. As I only had a camera
with a tele-zoom lens, I couldn't get the whole image as you see, so I took two exposures, one for the guy and the
other for the bag and blended them together in Photoshop.

Septmber 9, 2009 | Lowepro DryZone 200 Backpack
When traveling all my camera gear goes in a Lowepro DryZone 200 backpack.
It’s a great bag. I usually have the Pentax 67II body with a lens attached plus two to four extra lenses, a Lee filter set, film, lens hoods, sunglasses and torch in the main compartment. In the outer compartment I have cleaning tissues, digital camera, audio recorder, batteries, business cards, tickets, AC cable for Ipod and sometimes a reflector.
The big advantage of the DryZone bags is that they have an extra zippered waterproof layer protecting the inner
compartment. In theory you could drop your bag in a river and (as long as it’s zipped up) the inner compartment will
remain dry (the outer compartment will be flooded). For me it’s more about heavy rain. If you are outdoors away from
shelter and it starts to rain really hard that added protection against the elements is extremely useful.
My bag served me well for 7 years, but on the last trip the glue holding the zipper to the waterproof outer shell
degraded and came apart, so that the bag could no longer be made waterproof.
I contacted Lowepro and explained the problem asking if it could be repaired. After a few emails assessing the problem they asked that I send the bag to the distributors in Japan. I was contacted a few days later saying that the zipper could not be repaired without compromising waterproofness and so they sent me a brand new bag free of charge.
In conclusion we have a company that actually lives up to the blurb on their website. Lowepro: great products and great customer service.

July 29, 2009 | Lowepro Orion Trekker
Dear Lowepro:
Hi there,
I want to send a thank you letter to Lowepro as once again, your Orion
Trekker saved my camera from certain death while I was out shooting the
fires on Okanagan Lake a few days back. This bag has a story that is
truly unbelievable - been dangled from a chairlift, dumped into a couple
of feet of powder while shooting Big White ski magazine photos. I just
have to thank you and would love to let other people know about your
product.
Seriously, you guys SO rock!

July 23, 2009 | Tokina 11-16 lens
I’ve been an avid amateur photographer for almost 30 years and I currently have over 50 of my prints on display
in an art exhibition this summer at the Musée de la Gare in Temiscaming, Quebec. I believe I was among the lucky
first batch of Canadians to purchase a Tokina 11-16 lens when DayMen began distributing Tokina in the spring of 2008.
This Tokina lens has been nothing but a blessing in disguise for my art. I even wrote a small article on my blog.
And as a result of using this lens, I have managed to sell many images and have had some published in magazines,
brochures and websites. My work is even being used by the UK distributor for Tokina for their marketing campaign.
The reason for my e-mail is to make you aware of how great this lens is and to share with you my work. This link will show you the Tokina 11-16 images.
Sincerely yours,

July 3, 2009 | Lowepro Mini Pouch
Dear Lowepro:
Here goes our story.
Deep
in the artic on Devon's Island, I lost one of my cameras, a SAMSUNG
NV24HD in one of your mini pouch. With a terrain so vast we decided not
to bother searching for it. After several days of artic rain, snow and
freezing temperature one of my colleague accidentally found the pouch
with the camera in it. We all thought that the camera would be out of
service due to the amount of rain alone it had received. With great
anxiety, we opened the case to find the camera in a fairly dry state. We
were quite surprised. Our research team wish to say thank you for a
product well made.
Great job!
Jacques R.
